ST. RITA’S MEDICAL CENTER | Lima Ohio USA | 390 million sq ft

St. Rita’s “Medical Center of the Future” initiative, the North Tower Addition provides for much needed expansion, a greater focus on patients and families, space for advanced technology, easier access and additional parking. The center piece of this project is a nine-story patient tower that links to the existing hospital campus.

To better meet the needs of patients and families, the rooms are nearly twice the size of existing inpatient rooms and are the first built implementation of Ellerbe Becket’s “Patient Room of the Future” concept. The new floors are dedicated to specialized centers for cardiovascular and cancer care, among others. In addition there are convenient outpatient services off the main lobby, a two story meditation area, new main entrance and lobby, Health Resource Center for the public, expanded gift shop and coffee shop, a new large modern cafeteria and a rooftop garden that serves as an amenity for patients, family and staff alike.
